Description
This course is certificated by the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI) and International Register of Certificated Auditors (IRCA). CQI and IRCA Course Certification Number 2300 - PR 363.
The course consists of XX VILT sessions and a 1 day face to face classroom based refresher and the final examination.
Learners will be required to complete the face to face examination within 180 days of the start of the VILT course.
Course Criteria
Upon completion of the course. learners will be able to:
1) Explain the purpose of business continuity management systems standards, of management system audit, of third-party certification and the business benefits of improved performance of the business continuity management system.
2) Explain the role and responsibilities of an auditor to plan, conduct, report and follow up a BCMS audit in accordance with ISO 19011 (and ISO 17021 where appropriate).
3) Plan, conduct, report and follow up an audit of a BCMS to establish conformity with ISO 22301 and in accordance with ISO 19011 ) and ISO 17021 where appropriate).
Learners will need to demonstrate acceptable performance in these areas to complete the course successfully.
Prior Knowledge
Before starting this course, learners are expected to have the following prior knowledge of the:
1) Requirements of ISO 22301:2019
2) Following business continuity management (BCM) principles and concepts:
- the purpose and benefits of a business impact analysis;
- the principals of risk assessment and analysis;
- typical business continuity strategies;
- business continuity response options;
- BCMS performance metrics, monitoring and performance measurements;
- exercise and testing methodologies.
Objectives
The objective of this course is to equip delegates with the knowledge and skills to perform audits of BCMS against ISO 22301:2019 in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO 17021, as applicable.
Audience
This training is designed for Business Continuity Management professionals who have a general background in Business Continuity Management and have a basic knowledge of the requirements of the ISO 22301 Standards.
Case study materials and role-play exercises are used to develop and practice skills in all phases of auditing. Participants are continually assessed and required to complete a midcourse test along with an end-of-course written examination.
