Objectives
The objective of this Course is to equip participants with knowledge and skills required to perform implementation and internal audit against Hong Kong AEO program criteria. Upon completion of this Course, delegates will be able to:
Announced in April 2012, the Hong Kong Authorized Economic Operator Programme (HK AEO Programme) has been officially launched. It is a customs-business partnership which aims at strengthening the international supply chain security.
It is administered by the Customs and Excise Department (C&ED) through an open and voluntary certification programme. C&ED will certify companies as HK AEOs if they meet the general, security and safety criteria set in this HK AEO Guideline.
The WCO Framework rests on the twin pillars of Customs-to-Customs network arrangements and Customs-to-Business partnerships. Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) arrangement is a major standard under the Customs- to-Business pillar and a core element of the WCO Framework.
Parties involved in the international movement of goods and willing to comply with pre-determined security standards and best practices can become AEOs and enjoy appropriate incentives given by customs authorities (e.g. facilitation in customs controls and procedures).
