DESCRIPTION
The aim of this course, a pre-requisite to obtaining a licence, is to train persons who intend to operate industrial radiography equipment, in principles of radiation safety. Operators of this equipment are required to hold a licence in compliance with State Legislation.
Area of Industry Served:
Industrial radiography using x-ray equipment or radioactive sources.
Upon successful completion of this course, learners:
- Should be able to successfully pass the *Radiological Council’s qualifying examination conducted by SGS Radiation Services
- Will possess the skills and knowledge to competently operate industrial radiography equipment and minimise doses received to such a level that the hazards are below the statutory limits
* Please note that the examination is set by and marked by the WA Radiological Council who will directly advise the participant of their mark. Licences are issued only by the WA Radiological Council.
