
Description
This course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge required to carry out risk management processes in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.
The course covers the following topics:
- Plan and prepare for implementing the risk management process
- Identifying hazards and assessing risk
- Identifying unacceptable risk and potential actions
- Deciding on actions and implementing actions
- Reviewing the implementation of actions
- Auditing the risk management process
- Completing records and reports
Objectives
Participants will develop the skills and knowledge required to:
- Facilitate risk assessment exercises for others
- Provide clear and timely instruction and supervision of those involved in carrying out the risk management
- Provide opportunity for people to undertake hazard identification and implement action plans
- Identify hazards which may have acute and long-term effects on people
- Applyhazard analysis to identify and score the risk
- Select and implement the appropriate treatments using the hierarchy of controls, and reduce unacceptable risk
- Audutoutcomes and processes for compliance and effectiveness, and recommend changes to improve effectiveness
- Prepare written risk assessment documentation

Audience
This course is suitable for those persons who have undertaken the Site Safety Supervisor (Formerly S123) and who may be required to have certain supervisory roles on a mine site where they are required to undertake facilitation and auditing of formal risk assessments.
