The Sustainable Apparel Coalition is a trade organization comprised of brands, retailers, manufacturers, government, and non-governmental organizations and academic experts, representing more than a third of the global apparel and footwear market. The Coalition is working to reduce the environmental and social impacts of apparel and footwear products around the world. The focus of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition is the development and use of the Higg Index - a suite of self-assessment tools designed to measure the sustainability impacts of apparel and footwear products
Objectives
The Higg Index provides a tool for the apparel and footwear industry to assess sustainability throughout a product's entire life cycle, from materials to end-of-life.
This course aims to equip participants with the necessary knowledge enabling:
- Guide to complete self-assessment
- Comprehend the environmental interactions
- Describe the environmental management approaches (PDCA)
- Ensure data accuracy
- Gain basic understanding of the requirements addressed in the Higg Index FEM v3
- Utilize the industrial environment
