
DESCRIPTION
The adoption of a quality management system (QMS) is a strategic decision where organization demonstrate its ability to consistently provide product that meets customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including a more risk-based approach in managing the processes, continual improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.
All requirements of ISO 9001 are generic and are intended to be applicable to all organizations, regardless of type, size and product provided. However, a good understanding and interpretation of the requirements are vital to ensure full conformance and enable certification to be obtained and maintained effectively.
The aim of this course is to provide students who have an existing, basic knowledge of, or experience in, quality management with an understanding of the management systems approach and the requirements of ISO 9001, and to provide a basis for students who wish to go on to complete IRCA certified QMS Auditor Training courses.
Important: Only the softcopy of the course material will be distributed on the day of training. Thus participants are reminded to bring along their laptop for the duration of the training.
OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
- Explain the purpose of a quality management systems, of quality management systems standards, and the business benefits of improved performance of the quality management system
- Outline the structure and content of ISO 9001 and its relationship with ISO 9000
- Explain the specific quality management related requirements of ISO 9001
