Environmental aspects and impact assessment is necessary to predict and priorities the environmental consequences. Without this assessment, organisation can not know how to have proper measure on any impacts to acceptable levels.
This systematic assessment enables organisation to identify, predict, evaluate and mitigate the potential environmental impacts or effects prior to major decisions being taken and commitments made.
Important: Only the softcopy of the course material will be distributed on the day of training. Thus participants are reminded to bring along their laptop for the duration of the training.
Objectives
The programme aims to provide delegates with the knowledge and ability to :
- Understand the importance of evaluating “indirect” aspects as well as “direct” aspects as part of the overall process
- Appreciate the principles of environmental risk assessment
- Use process mapping and other techniques to identify environmental aspects and impacts
- Perform an evaluation to determine which environmental aspects are significant in an organization
- Record, document and prioritize significant environmental aspects for improvement and / or management control
