Description
ANSI/ESD S20.20-2014, Electrostatic Discharge Control Program Standard, was created to help organizations design, develop, implement and maintain an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) Control Program to protect ESD-sensitive electrical or electronic parts, assemblies and equipment from being damaged by Human Body Model (HBM) discharges greater than or equal to 100 volts.
This course aims to provide you with knowledge of the requirements necessary to design, establish, implement and maintain an Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) control program, particularly if your organization is involved in the manufacture, process, assemble, install, package, label, service, test, inspect or handle electrical or electronic parts, assemblies and equipment susceptible to damage by electrostatic discharges.
Topics:
-
Device Failure Models and Mechanisms
- Human Body Model (HBM)
- Charged Device Model (CDM)
- Machine Model (MM)
Essentials for ESD Programs
Developing ESD Control Program and ESD Program Management
ESD Certification and Auditing
SGS Philippines is the global competence center for the ESD s20.20 standard and shares expertise with the Electrostatic Discharge Association (ESDA).
Objectives
By the end of this course, you are expected to:- Understand ESD, its purpose and its elements
- Determine the processes involved in establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, and improving an ESD Control Program
- Gain know-how on implementation requirements of a control program that follows the standard
Audience
This course is relevant to individuals and teams who are involved in the implementation of an ESD Control Program, particularly, production managers, production supervisors and production teams, project managers and project teams, corporate and production planners, and QA/QC managers and staff.Note: SGS shall provide only generic information and advice which are freely available in public domain.
SGS will not provide company specific advice towards the development and implementation of the management systems for eventual certification, which contravenes the requirements of the IAF Guidance (i.e. provision of consultancy services).
