ISO 22000 lead auditor training from SGS teaches you the skills required to audit a food safety management system (FSMS).On this training course you will learn to assess the design, implementation and improvement of a FSMS against the requirements of ISO 22000.

Prior Knowledge Requirements

Prior to attending this training course, learners must have knowledge of ISO 22000 or acceptable equivalent standard and the following food safety management principles and concepts:

• Implementing or operating a management system within a food sector context. This includes private schemes such as BRC, GLOBALGAP, FSSC and/or other schemes which include management system components.

• Relevant key food safety legislation (this may be specific to students’ food industry context and location).

• ISO 22000 and also of prerequisite programmes as specified in ISO/TS 22002-1.

• Good Practice guides for Agriculture (GAP), Veterinary (GVP), Manufacturing (GMP), Hygiene (GHP), Production (GPP), Distribution (GDP) and/or Trading (GTP) depending on the segment of the food chain in which the student operates.

• The principles of HACCP as defined by the Codex Alimentarius Commission.

  • Have the skills and knowledge needed to conduct third party audits against the requirements of ISO 22000
  • Be able to support your claim as part of the overall requirements for registration as a Registered Lead Auditor
Please note, before attending this training you must have the following:
  • Experience of working within the food chain (including implementing or operating a management system)
  • Understanding of relevant key food safety legislation
  • Completion of prerequisite courses (Introduction & Awareness ISO 22000 and ISO 22000 Internal Auditor)
  • Knowledge of Good Practice guides for Agriculture (GAP), Veterinary (GVP), Manufacturing (GMP), Hygiene (GHP), Production (GPP), Distribution (GDP) and/or Trading (GTP) – depending on your food chain segment
  • Understanding of the principles of HACCP as defined by the Codex Alimentarius

This five day course provides an opportunity for Food Safety Management  professionals to update their skills in interactive and supportive surroundings.
