 The ISO 26000 standard combines the benefits of engaging in sustainable behaviour with the ability to meet the growing global demand for more transparent and ethical operations. ISO 26000 addresses a range of core subjects related to sustainability issues that drive the optimum goal of promoting sustainable development. Its guidance framework and strong links to other standards and assessments mean that it can be used alone or in conjunction with other industry benchmarks available. ISO 26000

By the end of the course, participants are expected to:

  • Recognise the importance of social responsibility and engaging stakeholders, the core subjects and issues pertaining to social responsibility

  • Be aware of the potential range of social responsibility issues that face organisations and the range of conventions, specifications, codes of conduct and other initiatives

  • Understand the fundamental purpose of ISO 26000 and explain the purpose, content and interrelationship between the guidance set out in ISO 26000, local industry practice and relevant legislative framework

  • Understand the ways to integrate socially responsible behaviour into the organization

  • Understand the importance of results and improvements in organizational performance on social responsibility
