The purpose of this course is to equip delegates with the knowledge of the purpose and requirements of ISO 31000:2009. This course should be useful as an introduction for anyone developing risk management policy within their organisation, for those accountable for ensuring that risk is effectively managed, those who need to evaluate an organisation’s effectiveness in managing risk. Delegates are not expected to have prior knowledge of risk management before attending this course.
By the end of this course, delegates will be able to:

explain the purpose of ISO 31000, Risk management – Principles and guidelines;

outline key definitions, principles and framework of risk management;

describe the structure, scope and purpose of ISO 31000;

explain the framework and process for identifying and managing risk within an organisation;

Objectives
SECTION I
provides the introduction and overview of the Course including the method of assessment, policy and objectives to which SGS Systems and Services Certification (SSC) is committed, and the timetable of activities.
SECTION II
contains the course sessions. The sessions are set out so as to enable delegates to make notes against appropriate parts of the Course.
Alternatively, delegates may take notes on the paper supplied.
APPENDICES
contain examples of the various items referenced in the sessions.
WORKSHOPS
set out details of the activities that delegates are asked to undertake during the course.
