This course is useful as an introduction for anyone involved in the development, implementation and management of an ISO 14001 environmental management system. It will be valuable as preparation for participants planning to complete other ISO 14000 series based training, such as internal and lead auditor courses.
Objectives
ISO 14001 provides industry with a model for managing and improving their environmental impacts. This course will provide participants with an overview of the purpose and requirements of ISO 14001:2015 as a tool for the management of environmental aspects and impacts. At the end of this course participants will be able to:
- Discuss the external pressures on an organisation to develop environmental management systems.
- Describe the purpose of an environmental
management system and explain the legislative framework relevant to an EMS.
- Explain the purpose and intent of the ISO 14000 series of standards.
- Describe the requirements of ISO 14001.
Audience
Delegates are not expected to have any knowledge of ISO 14001 or management systems prior to attending this course.
