Description

This course, developed by FSPCA, is the “standardised curriculum” recognised by FDA. Successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a “preventive controls qualified individual'. This course is taught by a Lead Instructor for the FSPCA Preventive Controls for Animal Food Course.

Audience

This course is designed for those seeking a way to demonstrate meeting the training requirements for PCQI under the rule, and for those who prepare the food safety plan, validate preventive controls, review records, perform reanalysis of the Food Safety Plan, and other activities as appropriate. 


Prerequisites: 

Prior knowledge of GMP’s and HACCP, or experience with Animal Food Safety Management Systems is recommended. If delivered via virtual learning methodologies, online learners will need a computer with internet connection and telephone connection. Both audio and web-based participation are required.


Learners will receive an FSPCA course manual. All FSPCA slides will be covered during the course. To earn a certificate of course completion, learners are required to attend the full course, participate actively in class discussions, interactive small group workshop exercises, individual learning activities and information sessions. Upon successful completion, learners will receive an FSPCA PCQI certificate issued by the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO).
