DESCRIPTION
ISO 22000 sets out specific food safety requirements for organizations in the food chain. One requirement is that organizations establish, implement and maintain prerequisite programs (PRPs) to assist in controlling food safety hazards. Intended use of food packaging needs to be fully understood so that any food safety hazard can be identified or addressed through appropriate food packaging design.
This course is designed for you to understand the requirements for packaging design which have been included within a new publicly available specification, ISO/TS 22002-4 (formerly PAS 223) - Prerequisite programmes (PRPs) and design requirements for food safety in the manufacture and provision of food packaging.

OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of the course, you are expected to:- Know how to implement ISO/TS 22002-4 Pre-Requisite Programs for Food Safety: Food Packaging Manufacturing alongside ISO 22000 in a cost-effective manner.
- Identify key differences and changes between auditing FSSC 22000 based on ISO/TS 22002-4 and auditing PAS 223
- Understand the specific requirements for establishing, implementing and maintaining prerequisite programs (PRP) to assist in controlling food safety for food packaging design and manufacture.
AUDIENCE
