Description
An innovation management system comprises a set of interrelated elements that allow the organization to identify its innovation policy, strategy, objectives and processes needed to achieve the desired innovation results. These activities include detection and response to changing situation in its context, to pursue new opportunities, to leverage the knowledge and creativity of people within the organization and other interested parties, and to promote a culture supporting innovation activities.
The purpose of ISO 56002:2019 Innovation management system is to provide guidance on how an organization could build and what needs to be addressed to build an innovation management system. The standards are intended to be applicable to all kinds of organizations (private, public and NGOs) of any size, with a special focus on SMEs, and for all kinds of innovation (products, methods, services, processes, organizational, and business models new or improved). ISO 56002:2019 will pave the way for organizations to create a system of record for innovation that empower them to innovate more consistently and experiment cost effectively.
PRIOR KNOWLEDGE / PRE-REQUISITES
Delegates are expected to be equipped with the knowledge of management system as stated below before enrolling in the course:
-management systems and the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle;
-concepts of quality management and the relationship between quality management and customer satisfaction;
-commonly used quality management terms and definitions as stated in the ISO 9000 and
-the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.

Objectives
The objective of the course is to provide participants with an overview of the purposes and requirements of ISO 56002:2019 as stated in the Standard.
Upon completion of this course, delegates will be able to:
-explain the purpose and intent of the ISO 56002:2019 innovation management system standards;
-understand the application of the clauses of innovation management system standards and
-explain the relationships between the clauses of ISO 56002:2019 and ISO 9001:2015.
