PRIOR KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Before starting this course, you are expected to have the following basic knowledge of QMS:
A) Management systems
The Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) cycle
- The core elements of a management system and the interrelationship between top management responsibility, policy, objectives, planning, implementation, measurement, review, and continual improvement
B) Quality management
The fundamental concepts and the seven quality management principles (see ISO 9000):
- Customer focus
- Leadership
- Engagement of people
- Process approach
- Improvement
- Evidence-based decision making
- Relationship management
- The relationship between quality management and customer satisfaction.
C) ISO 9001
- Knowledge of the requirements of ISO 9001 and the commonly used quality management terms and definitions, as given in ISO 9001, which may be gained by completing a HKICA certified QMS Foundation Training course or the equivalent.
PROFESSIONAL TRAINER
The tutor is a registered Lead Auditor, HKICA and SGS approved tutor.
CERTIFICATION (ATTENDANCE 100%)
Delegates who successfully complete the course and pass the written examination will be issued a Certificate of Successful Completion by HKICA and SGS.

REMARKS:
- Course successful completion only satisfies part of the HKICA requirement for certification of auditor.
- This course doesn’t cover interpretation of ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Delegates who are not familiar with the requirements should attend ISO 9001:2015 foundation course
OBJECTIVES
China Certification & Accreditation Association (CCAA) and Hong Kong Institution of Certified Auditors (HKICA) has concluded an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to embark on the collaboration arrangement of mutual recognition of both sides’ certified auditors.
This comprehensive training course is certificated by HKICA, it enables delegates to acquire the skills as a lead auditor for both internal audit and third-party audit including the preparation of audit checklists, audit planning, conducting the assessments, reporting of audit results, and audit follow-ups against ISO 9001:2015 in accordance with ISO 19011 and ISO/IEC 17024 (as applicable).
On completion of the training you will be able to:
- Describe the purpose of a quality management system and explain the eight principles of quality management
- Explain the purpose, content and interrelationship of the ISO 9000 family of standards
- Interpret the requirements of ISO 9001 in the context of an audit
- Plan and conduct an audit and report on the audit in a manner that adds value to the organization
- Meet the training requirements for registration as a QMS Auditor or Lead Auditor with the HKICA
AUDIENCE
- This five day course provides an opportunity for quality management professionals to update their skills in interactive and supportive surroundings.
- Case study materials and role-play exercises are used to develop and practice skills in all phases of auditing. Participants are continually assessed and required to complete a midcourse test along with an end-of-course written examination.
